The annual sponsored dog walk at Bolton Abbey on 9th October raised an incredible £1500. The money was raised from stalls selling guide dog merchandise, and the family dog show and demonstration. The family-friendly day out was free to attend, but participants were encouraged to fundraise just £35 to support their incredible cause. All dogs taking part in the 3 km walk were given a special hero cape. Visitors were also given a chance to walk through the sensory tunnel to experience the difficulties facing people who are living with sight loss. Jo Stevens, Community Fundraising Development Officer for Guide Dogs, said "We are very grateful to Bolton Abbey for hosting the 'Dogs Unite' event and for kindly offering half price car parking to anyone who registered in advance. It was great fun to be able to turn an ordi-nary dog walk into something that will change the lives of people living with sight loss."
