A SOUTH Craven primary school will hold a marathon to raise money for a Skipton boy to buy a special bed.

Inspired by the story 12-year-old Aidan Hudson, who has Charge Syndrome, 130 children from Kildwick C of E Primary School will run around the school field, aiming to clock up a total of 26.2 miles, the length of a marathon.

Lisa Snell, chairman of the PTA, said on Monday, December 5, the children will dress up in Christmas-themed fancy dress and take on the challenge to raise money for both the school and Aidan, who is deaf, blind, has serious breathing problems and 'global developmental delay', meaning he cannot sleep in a normal bed.

"It's a story that tugs at the heartstrings," said Lisa. "If the children can get 26 miles in, it will be quite an achievement."
