MEMBERS of a group in Gargrave that hand-knitted and sold 'poppies' for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal raised a total of £772.
The ladies of the Gargrave Craft and Chat group knitted and crocheted 500 poppies which were displayed in a 'waterfall' on the altar at St Andrew's Church in the village.
They were sold at a coffee morning organised by the Gargrave Heritage Group and at various locations in the village throughout the following week.
Group members have thanked everyone in Gargrave who supported their efforts.
