SKIPTON Community Orchestra will hold a free Christmas concert at the town’s Christ Church School at 7pm tomorrow.
The concert has become an annual tradition and this will be the orchestra’s fifth appearance at the school.
The informal evening of carols and festive tunes will last about an hour.
The audience will have a chance to get into the Christmas spirit by joining in with some singing.
Children are welcome and can get involved by playing along with sleigh bells and other percussion instruments.
A recent addition is the involvement of some of the schoolchildren themselves, as around a dozen children will show off their musical talents on violin, bassoon, clarinet, guitar and piano.
The evening is rounded off with mince pies and a raffle, with prizes from local businesses.
Skipton Community Orchestra was founded in 2012 and gives musicians of all ages and abilities the opportunity to come together and make music in a friendly, informal atmosphere. It has gone from strength to strength and has over 30 members under conductor, Jess Mahler.
It meets on the second and last Tuesday of the month at Holy Trinity Church Vestry Rooms from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
