Two Tour de Yorkshire roadshows have been planned for Craven.

Businesses and residents in the district are being invited to roadshows as the county gears up to host the major international cycle race again this year.

The race will speed through the Craven district on Sunday April 30, travelling through Bolton Abbey, Barden, Burnsall, Linton, Cracoe, Rylstone, down Skipton High Street, and on to Farnhill and Silsden before heading off through Haworth and Leeming, into South Yorkshire and finishing in Fox Valley, Sheffield.

Welcome to Yorkshire and Craven District Council will deliver a roadshow event at the Rendezvous Hotel, Keighley Road, Skipton, on February 21, 2017 and at Burnsall Village Hall, Main Street, Burnsall, on Thursday March 2.

Registration for both events takes place from 6pm and the event runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Sharon Hudson, Craven District Council’s Communications and Partnerships Manager, said: “These roadshows are a great opportunity to come along and find out more about what is happening in Skipton, and across the region during the Tour. We want businesses to be able to make the most of this fantastic event which will attract many more people to the area.”

The session will include a short presentation, detailed information of the new route, advice on how to make the most of this world-class event and a Q&A opportunity. They will also give advice around brand guidelines and how local businesses and communities can make the most of the opportunity.

Welcome to Yorkshire has also launched its annual land art competition to celebrate 100 days to go until the start of the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire.

Businesses, landowners, farmers, schools and community groups are all being encouraged to get creative once again.
