Skipton Juniors Girls u-13s 3
Garforth Whites u-13s 1
SKIPTON recovered from a recent defeat to beat a hard-working Garforth team on a wet and muddy surface.
Early chances for Skipton were created from the quick thinking of Chloe Nettleton up front and this pressure was rewarded when Hannah Whitlam produced a strong shot on goal to open the scoring.
Garforth looked to threaten, but excellent defending from Felicity Windle and Tia Eyles, along with great goalkeeping from Kayleigh Hindle kept the score at 1-0.
Fine wing play from Lucy Pettit saw more chances created and one was well taken by the tenacious Sophie Wolstenholme with a quick shot through a crowd of players.
During the second half Skipton continued the pressure with a number of excellent attacking runs from Jodie Pepper and Sophie Auburn in midfield. The final goal for Skipton was a well-taken finish from Amber Gaunt rom outside the area.
Garforth got a goal back on the break with a speculative shot.
