SKIPTON Town Council became a victim of Storm Doris today after rain poured in through the roof of the town hall.
Officers arrived at work this morning to find water pouring down the walls facing onto the High Street, where £180, 000 repair work on the roof is focussed.
Chief officer, Dave Parker, was forced to relocate from his office, which has only recently been freshly decorated, after the ceiling collapsed.
Meanwhile, valuable artefacts, including framed pictures of former mayors and chairmen, have had to be hastily removed as a part of the ornate ceiling collapsed, leaving the carpet and flock wallpaper drenched.
Although the town council offices, tourist information and the museum remained open, visitors are being asked to use the side entrance, off Jerry Croft.
