STUDENTS of The Skipton Academy returned to school today to a new leadership team following the departure of principal Wendy Hamilton.
Andrew Cummings, headteacher at South Craven School, will also be executive headteacher at Skipton Academy.
In addition, David Royles, currently head of sixth form at South Craven School, will be interim head of school at the academy and will report to Dr Cummings.
Robert Bellfield, chief executive officer of the
Craven Educational Trust, said: "The trust welcomes Mr Royles to his new post as interim head of school under the strategic leadership of Dr Cummings."
Craven Educational Trust, a multi- academy trust, has operated The Skipton Academy since September 2014, when it became an academy.
Ms Hamilton, who had been its principal since conversion, resigned from the school at the end of the spring half term in February.
