DIVERSIONS will be in place on Friday (March 17) in Skipton as work on the town hall moves into its final stage.

Jerry Croft, which runs alongside the town hall to the public car park, will be closed to allow scaffolding to be removed.

Cars and coaches will be diverted along an alternative route to gain access to the car park.

Replacement of the roof, at the front of the listed building, is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, scaffolding at the front of the building will be removed over the next two weeks to allow stone repairs.

Paul Ellis, Craven District Council's director of services, said: “We’re pleased to see these works are being completed. We can now look forward to moving on to the next phase of the project to transform this historic venue into a cultural hub for the whole of Craven.”
