A FORMER West Craven High School student gave current pupils a thought provoking lesson about her African and Asian travels.

Bethan Gifford returned to the Barnoldswick school to speak to a group of RE students about her volunteering work to educate the less fortune in developing countries.

To reinforce Year 9 studies about Christianity and the community, Bethan spoke about the difference she has made to deprived communities in Tanzania and Cambodia and about her upcoming venture to Burkina Faso.

In April, as part of the International Service, Bethan will work with an organisation in the West African country which promotes and advocates for the rights of young people with disabilities.

For this project Bethan needs to raise £800, of which she has already raised £550 through various charity activities.
