NEW Settle business Timberworks Bespoke Joinery is celebrating its relaunch with a new roof and website.

Formerly Timberworks, the business, which sold off its timber merchant and DIY arm last year, is now concentrating on bespoke joinery, from gates and doors to heritage windows.

“We’re really pleased that the website is now live and fully functioning," said Beccy Bullock, joint owner, with husband, Ian. “Visitors to our website can understand more about the many different layers of craft joinery we can provide, from gates and doors to bespoke heritage windows and large-scale timber roof frames."

The business has also treated itself to a new roof at its premises in Sowarth Industrial Estate - the first one in 40 years.

"For us it is the last symbolic part of this major transformation, and it has made a massive difference to the working environment. It’s lighter, warmer and more secure, and gives the external building a real facelift. The investment has been really worth it," said Mrs Bullock.

Installation of the roof was carried out over Christmas by Clapham based Preston Steel Structures, with help from the Timberworks team. Final alterations to the interior have just been completed.

Meanwhile, the business has taken on an apprentice, Dan Cardus, 17, who is doing an NVQ in joinery at Craven College.

“We’re extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work with Dan, " said Mr Bullock. "He’s made an excellent start to his joinery career and fits in well with the team here. Young people looking for apprenticeships these days are few and far between, and this is a great learning experience for us all.”
