A BUDDING author and poet from Skipton who is the winner of a short story competition run by Skipton Building Society is giving proceeds from its sale to the Alzheimer's Society.
Software developer Lesley-Ann Case, writing under her pen name of Caylee Slansen, won the creative writing contest with 'The House at the Bottom of My Street.'
It is available as an e-book on Amazon from Wednesday, March 22, and £1.20 from every copy sold will go to the charity.
The competition, run in association with the Learn with Aegis project, was judged by writer Neil Hanson, whose book The Inn at the Top chronicled his experiences as landlord of The Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in Britain.
The Alzheimer’s Society is Skipton Building Society’s charity partner for 2017.
Learn with Aegis project worker Andrew Lambert said: “ This has been an exciting initiative to be involved with and we hope that readers will get behind us to buy the e-book on launch day. Let’s see if we can push the sales into the Amazon bestseller list!"
