A BANK Newton farmer has appealed for the second time to keep a barn built without planning permission.
In January last year, a government planning inspector agreed with Craven District Council, refused retrospective permission for 'New Laithe Barn' at Newton Grange Farm and ordered it be demolished in six months.
In September, landowner John Howard submitted a new application to the council asking for the retention and alteration of the barn, for agricultural purposes.
The council once again refused permission and warned Mr Howard he faced court action unless he demolished the barn within a month.
Mr Howard has now appealed against that decision of the council to keep the barn for the storage of 'hay, straw, feed and wool'.
