SKIPTON schoolgirl Karley Webb lost her long locks, and raised more than £600 to help children suffering from hair loss.

The 11 year old pupil of Christ Church School grew her hair to donate it to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to children who have lost theirs due to cancer treatment.

Karley had her hair cut last week at Ultra Violet, Belmont Bridge, and produced a 13inch long plait.

Her mum, Fiona Webb, said people had donated more than £600, with more still to come.

"I don’t think she really realised what a selfless act of kindness she was doing. We are so very proud of her and the amount she has raised," she said.
