SKIPTON Film Club will screen the hilarious and heartbreaking film Rams at 5.15pm this Sunday at the Plaza Cinema in Skipton.

Set in a secluded Icelandic valley, two estranged brothers, Gummi and Kiddi, are competing with each other for the best ram prize, which has become a symbol of their family feud.

When a disease threatens both of their herds, the brothers are faced with disaster. Can they find common ground to save their stock and their way of life?

Director Grimur Hakonarson's film has put Icelandic cinema on the world map, winning international awards and breaking box office records along the way.

"Skipton Film Club's commitment to the best of world cinema is exemplified by this screening," said a spokesman for the film club. "We feel this will be one of the highlights of what has been a very successful first season at the plaza."
