Firefighters from Bentham were called out after a high voltage cable was reported to be arcing.
The incident happened near a solar power farm at Ravens Close Brow.
Firefighters assisted the electricity board in isolating the power and left them to make things safe.
A tweet from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service said the cause was a 'goose, which was cooked'.
