A ONE day festival of walks from two to ten miles will raise funds for Craven community groups next month.

Organised by Skipton Rotary Club, there will be six, guided walks, either on routes around the town itself, or out into the countryside, to Flasby and Sharphaw.

Community groups are being urged by the rotary club to enlist people to take part in the walks and raise money for their chosen good causes at the same time.

Free parking will be available at Skipton Auction Mart, and discounted parking at Skipton Building Society, The Bailey.

Walks will take between one and six hours and are aimed at novice walkers, families and more experienced hikers.

The festival, on Sunday, May 21, will be centred in Skipton, with all walks starting off from Skipton Town Hall or Skipton Auction Mart, Gargrave Road, and each with its own Rotary guide.

Shorter walks in the town will include a 'ghosts and legends walk' and the Millennium Trail walk - both in the town, and walks to Skipton Woods. There will also be a walk to Flasby and to the top of Sharphaw, and a ten miler, for the more experienced.
