SKIPTON firm, Choice Baskets and members of a networking group have been raising money for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

The firm and members of Support for Women providing Inspiration, Friendship and Training (SWIFT) auctioned hampers they had made, to make £255 for the hospice.

Fundraiser, Karen Jones, was invited along to a meeting to find out more about the group, which helps woman in business with training and networking at its monthly meetings.

Corinne Hall, from Choice Baskets said: "My daughter, Grace and I lost a very special lady, my mum, three years ago, and the support and care we received from both Manorlands and the Outreach Team was second to none."

She said nothing was too much trouble for the hospice.

"They even let us bring a new born lamb into the hospice to visit mum. She loved the spring and always commented when she saw the first lambs. We feel Manorlands is an essential resource to this area, offering much more than end of life care, and by fundraising we hope we are giving some support back."

Karen said: "We are really grateful to Corinne, Grace, Choice Baskets and the Skipton SWIFT group for their contribution. It was lovely to meet the group. We really need the support of our local community so we can continue to provide incredible care, our need for support has never been greater than it is right now, and we urge the Craven community to support us in any way they can. Our sincere thanks go to the group for raising the money for such a worthy cause."
