KEELHAM Farm Shop will be doing its best to bring a taste of Yorkshire to this weekend's Tour de Yorkshire.

Sunday's third stage of the cycle race - the Yorkshire Terrier - will come through Craven, including Skipton High Street, on its way from Bradford to Sheffield.

And Keelham will have a food themed trailer amongst the publicity caravans leading the final stage of the race.

The Keelham trailer will form part of the 20-caravan procession travelling the route ahead of the arrival of the cyclists.

Co-owner, Victoria Robertshaw, said not only would the race pass its shops in Skipton and in Thornton, but it would also reach Fox Valley, near Sheffield, where they hoped to open another shop next year.

"We knew we had to take part, the world’s spotlight will be on Yorkshire over the Tour weekend and it’s a great opportunity to celebrate our local producers. They have been such an important part of Keelham’s story so far, and it’s a good moment to take stock before we embark on the next chapter for our business," she said.

“We’ve created a special map of all the Keelham suppliers along the route which we’ll be handing out to spectators so they can plan an alternative foodie tour of Yorkshire at a later date. We’ll also be giving out fresh fruit and veg to keep energy levels up as spectating can be hard work too."

Keelham also will be hosting a range of special events and tastings from suppliers featured along the route in its shops in Thornton and Skipton over the weekend. Sampling sessions in Skipton include Goose Eye Brewery, Ilkley Brewery, Naylor’s Brewery and Addingham Fruit Liqueurs on Friday and Tee-Total GnT on Sunday.

The Juice Bar in Skipton will also convert into a cycle café for the weekend, offering energy boosting drinks and snacks for any keen cyclists taking part in the amateur race in the morning, or spectators making their way to watch the race by bike.
