STUDENTS at the Northern Dance Centre, in Skipton and Ilkley, are flying high with success after gaining outstanding results.

Every student - from pre-primary to intermediate - gained a distinction in their recent ballet examinations.

Principal, Amy Addison, said “We have extraordinarily talented children in the school who work extremely hard and with our gifted and dedicated teachers encouraging them they achieve their absolute best."

The year had seen 40 children dancing at Disneyland Paris and appeared in highly praised performances during a successful overseas tour.

Isabella Chandler, 12, took was awarded a place at Elmhurst Ballet School in September and was picked out in her first term to join Birmingham Royal Ballet on its recent tour of Cinderella.

She performed as “young Cinderella” and a dancing mouse throughout the tour and has also been chosen to be the new “Face of Elmhurst” on posters and advertisements.

Sixteen-year-old Maisie Copping has done exceptionally well winning a full-time place at the prestigious Hammond School in Chester to study dance and musical theatre alongside her A levels and at the Northern Ballet School and at L.I.P.A (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts).

Ruby Picken, aged 12, gained a place for the third consecutive year on the Northern Ballet Associates scheme.

Theo Francis, 11, attended his first ever audition and landed a part as John Darling in the Bradford Alhambra pantomime Peter Pan and appeared in the professional production for eight weeks and ten-year-old Ulyana Rose auditioned successfully for the C.A.T. - Centre for Advanced Training- scheme at Northern Ballet to join them in September.
