A CANDLE is believed to have sparked a fire at a house in Rockwood Drive, Skipton, in the early of Sunday.
Two crews from Skipton attended the outbreak at 3.16am along with a fire investigation officer and a fire investigation dog.
A Skipton fire service spokesman said there was damage to a sofa and an electric fire and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the blaze believed to have been caused by a candle. The women who was occupying the house was unhurt.
Skipton fire crews also tackled a house fire in Low Bradley, near Skipton, when a curtain set fire in a first floor bedroom on Saturday. It caused minor damage and the female occupier was treated at the scene for possible smoke inhalation. A fire investigation officer also attended.
