PEOPLE are being invited to help the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust award organisations, groups and individuals who have helped support the landscape, environment, communities and economy of the Yorkshire Dales.

The project is to mark the 20th anniversary milestone of the trust and £100,000 cash is being made available.

David Sharrod, YDMT Chief Executive, said: “Over the last twenty years YDMT has helped others to achieve a fantastic amount in this special corner of the world.

"What better way to celebrate our anniversary than by recognising this excellent work and supporting more beneficial projects in the future through 20 cash awards?

"To help us celebrate some of these exceptional people and groups who go ‘above and beyond’ for the Yorkshire Dales we would like input from as many different people and organisations as possible via a nomination process.”

The five award categories are: Conservation, Heritage and Environment, Access and Understanding, Rural Enterprise and Employment, Sustainable Communities, YDMT Champion.

Dependent upon the quality of nominations, the charity would aim to select at least one Platinum, Gold and Silver award winner within each category.

The awards were open to any group, business, individual or organisation living, working or having an interest in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area. Self-nomination was permitted for all categories except the YDMT Champion, he said.

All nominations must be received by YDMT no later than midday on Friday June 9. Winners will be contacted by October 31 2017.
