SETTLE Amateur Operatic Society (SAOS) has received a national award.
The programme for The Likes of Us, the 2016 show SAOS staged about the life of Dr Barnardo, earned the Settle society third place in the Deluxe Programme competition in the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) awards.
The National Operatic and Dramatic Association's (NODA) vision is that amateur theatre should be successful and sustainable, providing a range of opportunities for people to develop their skills and enjoy taking part, at all levels.
John W Barnes, interim chairman of NODA, presented SAOS chairman Trudi Wilson with the third place award.
Trudi said: "It's not very often that smaller societies win anything in these awards so I was very happy to accept the award on behalf of all our SAOS members."
The Settle society is having a get-together to prepare for their new show, the musical Anything Goes, written by Cole Porter.
The event will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday, June 7, at the Old Court House in Settle.
The SAOS is inviting people to come along and join in the fun.
