SHOPKEEPERS and businesses in West Craven are being urged to take advantage of the latest round of improvement grants which are being released.
An allocation of £5,000 for premises in Barnoldswick and £3,000 for locations in Earby has been approved by the West Craven Area Committee.
This will be added to unspent funds of £6,879 for Barnoldswick and £1,685 for Earby, left over from previous years. Around 17 in Barnoldswick alone are said to have expressed an interest in becoming involved.
Last year the programme saw £776 handed out to the Pendleside Hospice shop in Church Street, Barnoldswick, and a further £172 for Full Worx in Rainhall Road.
In Earby, Ryan Waine Plumbing, on Colne Road, and Victoria Road’s West Craven Insurance and Pendleside Hospice again, shared £2,842.
Four councillors, Cllrs David Whipp and Marjorie Adams from Barnoldswick, and Cllrs Morris Horsfield and Mike Goulthorp from Earby, will determine the latest bids.
