STUDENTS about to start a course or enter training or an apprenticeship in Craven are being invited to apply for a scholarship of up to £1,000.
The Skipton Mechanics' Institute has a limited number of scholarships and is inviting applications from now until the end of June.
Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and living permanently in and studying in the organisation's wide 'area of benefit', which stretches from Addingham to Kettlewell and Starbotton, and includes South Craven and Salterforth.
The scholarship scheme is competitive and will be awarded to applicants who most closely meet or exceed the criteria for the award.
Robert Bellfield, secretary of Skipton Mechanics Institute, said: “This is a great opportunity for adults in Skipton to receive support towards a further or higher education programme, an apprenticeship or other training that will develop their skills and career.”
Applications must be received by June 30 and successful applicants will be told by the end of July.
