YORKSHIRE cartoonist and children’s book illustrator Linda Birkinshaw will hold a Meet the Artist session at Malham National Park Centre next week.

The session will take place between 2 and 4pm on Wednesday, and all are welcome to see Linda demonstrate her craft, have a chat or buy signed prints.

Linda draws a range of cartoon animals and country scenes at her studio in Ripon.

She said: “The paintings I do reflect the Yorkshire Dales landscape, its dry stone walls and animals – and the antics which those animals get up to.”

The event organiser at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, centre manager, Tracey Lambert, said: “We’re really pleased Linda’s holding this Meet the Artist session, as her work complements this year’s Malham Safari, a treasure hunt quiz through the village involving imaginative animal displays.”

The Malham Safari, which features the theme Cartoons Come Alive, runs from Saturday to Wednesday.

Entertainment includes duck races, live music, face painting, coconut shy and dance acts.
