A DRIVER stopped by police because she was weaving across the A65 at Hellifield was over the drink drive limit, heard Skipton magistrates.

Susan Atherton, 61, provided a positive roadside breath test and was taken to Harrogate Police Station where a blood test later revealed she had 110 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the legal limit is 80, the Skipton court was told.

Atherton, of Regency Close, Whalley, a woman of previous good character, who admitted drink driving on April 15, had co-operated fully with the police and was immediately apologetic about what she had done.

She was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £460 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and surcharge of £46. If she completes a drink drivers rehabilitation course, her ban will be reduced by 13 weeks.
