GRANTS for a range of conservation projects in the Ingleborough area are on offer from Clapham-based charity Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

Cash is available as part of Stories in Stone, a four-year programme of community and heritage projects that "restore, celebrate or increase understanding of Ingleborough’s natural or historical features, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership.

Work supported by previous grants include a series of walk leaflets about archaeological features on Ingleborough, the restoration of a 16th century packhorse bridge, and an interpretation panel about a historical wash dub.

The Trust's Stories in Stone project officer Chris Lodge said: “The grant scheme provides great opportunities for residents to help protect the rich historical and natural heritage of the Ingleborough area. If you have an idea for a local heritage project I’d be delighted to hear from you and I can help you to develop your grant application.”

The deadline for applications is 10am on Tuesday, June 27. More information is available Chris by emailing chris.lodge@ydmt.org or by phoning 015242 51002. The grant guidance and application forms can also be downloaded from www.ydmt.org/resources.
