IT has been my honour to serve as Pendle’s Member of Parliament for the past seven years. The first MP to have an office in Barnoldswick I am pleased to have helped hundreds of residents with local problems.

I have championed the Aerospace Sector and in December was delighted to break the ground on a £50 million investment at Rolls-Royce in Barnoldswick. I have also been pleased to work closely with Silentnight and meet some of their award-winning apprentices.

I am proud the government recently award West Craven High School additional capital funding, on top of the £6 million facelift which has already taken place. Several schools were concerned about the new funding formula and I took up their concerns directly with the Education Secretary. So I welcome the commitment in the Conservative Manifesto to increase the schools budget by £4 Billion, with no school now facing a cut.

In the EU Referendum last year, I voted Leave, along with 63 per cent of Pendle residents. Just 11 days after election day, the EU will start Brexit negotiations with Britain. Our area and our country faces a clear choice: strong, stable leadership under Theresa May through Brexit on beyond or the shambles of Jeremy Corbyn.
