CHILDREN will be given the chance to start a 650 horsepower steam engine in Barnoldswick.
The engine will be in full steam this Sunday at Bancroft Mill, on Gillians Lane.
Visitors are invited to visit the museum between 11am and 4pm to witness the running of Lancashire's largest surviving steam mill engine.
A second steam engine, which is being restored, will be on display, and there will be weaving demonstrations and regular guided tours.
"For this special event, we will invite a few lucky youngsters to start our 650 horse power steam engine," said a Bancroft Mill spokesman. "Two very skilled gentlemen have also been refurbishing our Pilling Lancashire loom, which can now be seen weaving our tea towels to a better standard than ever before."
