SUTTON Fun Day is set to take place this Sunday.

Although the event will not feature a procession this year, a packed programme of events will be held in Sutton Park from noon.

Sunday's fun day will feature a magician, children's entertainer, dog show, donkey rides, fairground attractions and rides, a slack line, an owls and falcon display and 40 stalls, which sell crafts, plants and other items.

Hot and cold drinks and cream scones will be served in the Sutton Village Committee's refreshments marquees. Hot food and Yorkshire Dales ice cream stalls will also be available.

Event organiser Christine Young said: "There will be no procession due to lack of entrants, volunteers and red tape from the council, but this year we will be having a children's entertainer and events like the dog show continue to go from strength to strength."
