ARMED Forces week in Craven next week will start with the raising of the flag at Skipton Town Hall.

The Armed Forces Flag will be raised at 10am on Monday in a ceremony attended by the chairman of Craven District Council, Stephen Place, and veterans from the Royal British Legion.

The week will conclude with Armed Forces Day on Sunday, June 25, when there will be a parade of cadets and veterans at 3.30pm, followed by the lowering of the flag.

Refreshments will be served after the parade at Holy Trinity Church.

The event is being organised by Skipton Business Improvement District (BID) with support from the town council and Craven District Council.
