A WOMAN has been spreading the message about bleeding disorders in the run up to "Talking Red" week and a conference in Birmingham on Saturday, June 24.

Linda Wild of Farnhill, who is an official ambassador for The Haemophilia Society, is to speak to the conference and tell them about her own experience dealing with the condition.

The event has been arranged by the organisation to help women recognise the symptoms of a bleeding disorder and to share that knowledge with their female friends, family and colleagues.

Linda, 66, said: "I want to get the word out that women shouldn’t be embarrassed to talk about bleeding, whether it is heavy periods or frequent bruising."

She has been out raising the profile of the condition around Craven and won support from numerous organisations which she has visited, her recent being at Skipton Car Show.

On her list have been the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, Bradford Haemophilia Centre, Skipton Fire station and Farnhill village hall, but she has also won support from as far away as the Isle of Wight.
