KILDWICK stages a summer fair on Saturday (June 24).

The village primary school, St Andrew's Church and Kildwick & Farnhill Institute are combining for the extravaganza.

Proceeds will be split between the three.

There is a 'summer meadow' theme to the event, which takes place between noon and 3pm at the church green and school.

A knitted meadow comprising 250 individual pieces will be displayed on the green. People aged from four to 94 have contributed to the work, which will be decorated with butterflies and bugs made by pupils.

The fair will also feature an adult baking competition and a teddy bear slide.

There will be children's handicraft classes for pre-school and primary-aged youngsters. Competition classes include decorating a paper plate, designing a miniature garden, creating bunting with a summer meadow theme, a vegetable animal and flower arrangement.

A raffle will feature prizes donated by businesses.

Stalls will include cards, jewellery, plants, gifts, pictures, skin products, a tombola, needlecraft, a chocolate game and coconut shy.

Jazz band Dales Jam will entertain, Kildwick Primary School will perform maypole dancing and bell ringing and there will be singing by its choir.

Refreshments will be available.
