SKIPTON Town Hall will welcome Phoenix Dance Theatre’s new production ReFINED this Monday.

ReFINED is a mixed programme packed with solos, duets, trios and quartets plucked from some of Phoenix’s most popular recent works.

Designed specifically for smaller stages, the ReFINED programme is an opportunity to see one of the UK’s longest standing contemporary dance companies perform in a local venue.

The programme is curated by the company’s artistic director Sharon Watson, who said: “Taking the dancers off the main stages to smaller, local venues is a really intimate way for our audiences to connect with the work and the dancers.

“The programme showcases some of the most breath-taking movements choreographed by a number of leading names within the industry.”

Danielle Daglan, programming and venue development manager at Craven District Council, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Phoenix Dance Theatre back to Skipton; they are a world-renowned contemporary dance company and have proved very popular with audiences in the past. This is a fantastic opportunity for Craven residents to see a top-class contemporary dance performance.”

The performance includes two films, one of which is Ghost Peleton, by Mark Huskisson, a highlight of The Yorkshire Festival 2014.

The evening concludes with a post-show discussion giving the audience a chance to talk directly with the performers.

The production takes place at Skipton Town Hall at 7.45pm on Monday.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 for concessions and are available from the Skipton Tourist Information Centre in Skipton Town Hall or by calling 01756 792809.
