CRAVEN business partners, James Feddo and Rick Wadsworth are celebrating after Morrisons Supermarket doubled the number of stores stocking their healthy snacks.

James, a former Ermysted's Grammar School boy and originally from Skipton, and Rick, who lives in Lothersdale, are delighted with the success of their Clearly Scrumptious Scrummies range.

Due to the positive response by shoppers, Morrisons has confirmed it will double the number of stores which will stock Scrummies. From this month the Blueberry, Raspberry and Strawberry fruit snacks will be available in more than 200 Morrisons stores across the country.

James, director and founder of the Keighley based Clearly Scrumptious, said to support the launch they had carried out a sampling campaign with mother and toddler groups to raise awareness, and also to encourage more children to eat fruit.

"We found that many children who didn’t initially enjoy raisins found the flavours of Scrummies delicious and it has since helped parents motivate their children to try other fruits," he said.

"Feedback like this is really heart-warming and exactly why we wanted to launch Scrummies and make it available with a retailer like Morrisons."

He added Morrisons increasing the number of stores to sell Scrummies had been a significant vote of confidence in a small producer like themselves.

"We look forward to even more feedback about Scrummies and hope they help even more children to eat a healthier diet that is both fun and rewarding.”

The healthy snacks are a mixture of cranberries and raisins with fruit flavours. Made with whole bits of fruit, instead of pieces, they also help children identify fruit as a treat - instead of sweets.

Scrummies are also suitable for vegans, are 100 per cent natural, are dairy free, and contain no added sugar.

They come in a handy small size, suitable for lunchboxes, handbags, or even manbags.
