The young band from Settle Shrymp Inc. popped over the hill to Kettlewell Primary School for the hand-over of a new defibrillator following their recent fundraising show for the life-saving piece of kit.
Teaching assistant Pam Windle arranged for Shrymp Inc. to lead a fundraising Sunday afternoon of live music, supported by her blues guitarist husband, Graham and featuring a rendition of ‘We Will Rock You’ by youngsters from the after school Rock Club.
Pam also organised a prize Play Your Cards Right and The Friends of Kettlewell School provided bangers in Yorkshire puds which all helped to raise the £436 for the defibrillator and an additional £293 for Kettlewell School.
School manager Tracy Briggs said: “We’re really grateful to the Windles and Shrymp Inc. for making this fundraising event such a fun afternoon of live music and a huge success. “Hopefully we will never need to use our new defibrillator
but if just one occasion ever arises we’ll all be thankful to have one ready to go here at Kettlewell Primary School. “Thanks also go the Friends of Kettlewell School for helping make the event happen and, as always for the tremendous support we receive from
the local community”.
