A TEAM from Skipton based Bowman Riley Architects will be rowing 21 miles across Lake Windermere this weekend to raise money for Craven children and their families.

The 21 strong team hopes to raise at least £2,500 of pounds for Skipton Extended Learning For All (SELFA), its chosen charity of the year.

Kara Thorpe, from Bowman Riley, said: “The Big Row has been booked and all our rowers are ready. Everybody is looking forward to what is going to be a great day out raising money for a fantastic cause. SELFA provide invaluable services to young people and their families across the Craven area and we are proud to show our support.”

The money, raised through sponsorship and donations, will go towards paying for summer workshops, including puppet making, baking, craft days and a Forest School camp.

There will also be trips to Laserzone and trampolining.

Six members of staff from Bowman Riley will also be helping out at the first organised trip, to the Malham Tarn field centre, leased by the National Trust.

Emma Pears, SELFA's chief officer, said “We are very grateful for all the help that Bowman Riley are giving us. Their support is not going unnoticed here at SELFA and all our staff and children appreciate what is being done for us. We are positive that The Big Row will be an enormous success and will not only be a great fundraiser, but also a fantastic day out for everyone involved.”
