CHURCHES in Cross Hills and District are joining forces for a Songs of Praise style event at 3pm on Sunday in Sutton Park.
Local people have voted for their favourite hymns and the top choices will be sung on the day.
As well as favourite hymns, as voted for in the poll, Praise in the Park will feature community brass band, Sutton’s Got Brass, and a choir made up of children from five local primary schools: Sutton C of E, Sutton CP, Kildwick C of E, Cowling CP and Eastburn Junior and Infant School.
Additional music will be provided by the Chris Waddington and Friends Band, returning by popular demand.
The Rev Helen Collings, vicar of Sutton with Cowling and Lothersdale, said: “We are looking forward to this event, which involves a wide range of people from our local communities, both young and old. Thank you to everyone who voted for their favourite hymns. Please come along on Sunday afternoon to see if your favourite made it onto the programme, and to enjoy a good sing.”
