ARTWORK by children from Brougham Street Nursery School, Skipton, will be on display in Skipton Town Hall from Tuesday to Saturday, July 22.

The exhibition will feature a seven-foot high cardboard sculpture and paintings created by the children as well as photographs taken by the youngsters, who are three and four years old.

Stephanie Blackwell, early years educator and project co-ordinator, said: "We're celebrating the children's progression throughout the year with an art exhibition.

The focus of the exhibition will be cardboard structure created by the children.

Stephanie said the children enjoyed working with cardboard for the first time, stacking and glueing square pieces of different sizes over a period of four months.

To create the paintings, the children actually made their own paint and learned how to mix primary and secondary colours.

She also said the children used an iPad to take digital photographs which will be included the exhibition.

Artist and sculptor Ben Golding, who specialises in watercolours, Biro drawings and large-scale cardboard sculptures, will open the exhibition at an invite only event on Monday.

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm on the Saturday.
