ROYAL Horticultural Society (RHS) judges visited Barnoldswick on Monday to assess the town for this year's North West in Bloom competition.

"Regional RHS judges gave the town a good looking over and gave it a thumbs up," said Barnoldswick in Bloom member David Whipp. "We have to wait until November before finding out how we've done in the North West event, but the town is looking great after all the effort from volunteers in recent weeks and months."

In three week's time, Barnoldswick will have a day of judging in the national Britain in Bloom finals.

"The town's bloom team will be working hard between now and then to make sure Barnoldswick gets another gold," added David. "Thank you and well done to everyone who's supported the Barnoldswick in Bloom initiative this year."
