RUNNERS are getting set to head for the hills around Carleton when the village's second 'Sheeplechase' event starts on Sunday morning.
It will feature two new off-road courses, a 2.5 kilometre fun run for all ages and abilities and a 10-kilometre fell run for more experienced runners.
Eighty competitors took part last year and organisers are confident that many more will take part on Sunday.
Every finisher will earn a medal and there are prizes donated by sponsors Saltaire Brewery.
The event will also feature various stalls and entertainment, including a bouncy castle and face-painting for the children, outside The Swan Inn in the centre of the village.
The Sheeplechase is one of several new fundraising events being organised by the parents and teachers of Carleton Endowed Primary School.
