Fire crews recently attended Skipton College to demonstrate a road traffic collision and it’s aftermath.

Students played the role of injured occupants in a vehicle while the fire service demonstrated techniques of extraction from a damaged vehicle.

As part of their work within the community North Yorkshire Fire Service provided the opportunity  to witness this demonstration for current and prospective students attending the college Public Services course.

Peter Devecchis, CSO for Craven for NYFRS, said: “This was very well received by the students further educating them about the dangers of driving but also giving them insight into the role fire crews play when attending road traffic collisions.”
