A SUMMER of tennis fun for children and young people is about to start at Craven Lawn Tennis Club in Gargrave.

The club recently marked the completion of its three all weather courts, alongside its three grass courts, with an open day.

And, on Monday, July 24, the club will stage its annual teenage tennis tournament for 11 to 18 year olds. The round robin contest will take place from 11am to 3pm and will give all players a chance to play in a friendly, and competitive, tournament.

A fun day for juniors, aged five to 11 years old, will follow on Wednesday, July 26 from 11am to 3pm.

There will be LTA coaches, in addition to mini tennis, ball games, and a barbecue lunch and drinks.

Entry to the teenage tournament is £15, to include a barbecue, lunch and drinks. Payment needs to be made on the day, in case bad weather forces cancellation. Spaces are limited, to register, email: connel_vereker@hotmail.com or text on 07708 996840.

Entry to the junior tennis day is £12 per child, to be paid again on the day in case of cancellation. To register email: secretary@craventennis.org.uk or telephone Club Secretary, Beth Whitley, on 01756 749664.
