TENNIS-mad youngsters at Skipton Tennis Centre have had an ace boost after netting support from a wealth management company based in the town.

Prosperity Financial Services is sponsoring tennis development at the centre, based at Sandylands, with the aim of attracting and inspiring more young people to take up sport.

The company's Lee Windle, who lives in Skipton, is himself a serious sports fan and his son Tom plays football for Bradford City.

He said: “Sport is a fantastic way to show youngsters how to work well with a partner. When we consider ways we can inspire the next generation, nothing is more important than encouraging them to take up a healthy and sociable sporting activity like tennis to improve their fitness and life skills."

The tennis centre provides lessons and games for all abilities and ages and participates in all the local leagues.

Head coach Adam Cox said they were delighted to receive the sponsorship: "Prosperity Financial Planning have already proactively helped to support the development of tennis in Skipton and increase participation in the game, and we now hope to be able to boost the numbers of youngsters playing this great game further.”
