A CROSS Hills man is tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for charity.

Keith Jackson is taking on the challenge, on September 8, with three colleagues from Allied Financial Services.

Proceeds will be split between three causes – Candlelighters, Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue and Making Space.

Mr Jackson, a financial advisor, said: "They are very deserving charities and we're all keen to raise as much as possible.

"I have been doing strength training in preparation for the event, using a programme from my gym, all based around the walk and endurance."

The trio aims to complete the Three Peaks – Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – in under 12 hours.

An online fundraising page has been set-up at mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/alliedfinancialservices.

The team has received good-luck messages from all the beneficiaries.

Brian Curran, corporate fundraiser at Candlelighters, said: "Their fundraising will help support children fighting cancer and their families across the Yorkshire region."

Crescenza Puzio, a volunteer with Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue, said: "We are very grateful to have been chosen by Allied Financial Services as one of its charities.

"As a small charity, we rely heavily on public donations to continue our work."
