REFUSED plans to build a new home on the site of existing outbuildings in Halton East, Skipton, have been upheld on appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.
Government inspector Alison Partington said plans to build close to The Rookery would cause 'less than substantial' harm to the conservation area, but that the public benefits of the scheme were not great enough to outweigh the harm.
In dismissing the appeal, made by Dr John and Frances Field, she upheld the refusal decision made by Craven District Council in September, last year.
