AN informal talk on the history of Carleton during the English Civil War in 1643 and the beginnings of the 'mill age' 200 years later will be given by Sue Wrathmell on Sunday, August 20.
The event, at St Mary's Church in the village, starts at 2pm and will include a display and an optional village walk. Donations of £6 per adult will go to church funds, with students and children free.
