POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man kicked and punched a car in slow moving traffic on Skipton High Street.

The incident happened last Thursday at approximately 5.05pm.

Police say a vehicle has been travelling down Skipton High Street in slow moving traffic.

When it was outside Rackhams, a man has approached it and started punching the front passenger side window.

No damage was caused initially, but about five minutes later, when the car had travelled down the road and was outside Kooky Nightclub, the same man once again attacked the vehicle.

This time he started kicking the front of the car, damaging the bonnet, and members of the public have had to intervene to stop the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his mid to late teens, slim build with short light coloured hair.

Police said: “We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“In particular, we are appealing for information about the incident outside Kooky where damage has been caused. If you witnessed this incident or were a member of public who intervened, we want to hear from you.”
