A WALKER suffered a foot and ankle injury when she slipped when walking in Baxenghyll Gorge in Ingleton, on Sunday.
She was given pain relief by members of Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation who also applied a vacuum splint.
Team members carried her by stretcher up to Beezleys where Yorkshire Aire Ambulance paramedics assessed her injury.
A cave rescue spokesman said: "She was put into a road ambulance which took her to the family car in Ingleton. Her family took her to a hospital nearer home for an X-ray."
